A weekend without rain! Well, so far :) Good thing we got an early jump on our day because it sure did get hot outside. These girls, who's mommy is owner of Jeune Girl Crafts, are true "Girly Girls." They had a blast dressing up in their Matlida Jane, petticoats and cowboy boots.
If you live on my street, you are going to have a boy and he will have an Irish name. One day, I hope to break that trend, but for now, he is another look at my beautiful new neighbor. There is nothing like holding such a small sweet baby and of coarse, I have to thank him for letting me have a little fun with this giant bowl ;)
BOYS EDITION! I have been getting a lot of emails about it and it is finally here. I have teamed up with two mom created businesses, Little Ones of New Paltz and Sew Special Hats of Poughkeepsie, to bring you a very fun "Fresh Face" contest for boys.
What we are looking for, boys in the age range of 3-5 years old. If you are 5 1/2, that is ok ;) Has never been photographed by Surprise Photography and parents or guardians are willing to sign a model release.
What mom or dad needs to do, drop me an email @ melissa@surprisephotography.com, with "Fresh Face Inquire" in the subject line. I will respond to you will a full list of details, rules and guidelines for the contest. If you don't hear from me within a day, please check your junk mail box. As much as I hate to think my emails are junk, it does happen ;)
Photo submissions will start Wednesday, July 9th and will be taken until late Wednesday, July 16th. Online voting will start soon afterwards and will last for one week.
Due to the overwhelming response to the first "Fresh Face" contest for girls, Surprise Photography has the right to limit the amount of entrants.

I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of July weekend. The family and I headed back home to CT and MA to spend some time with our families. Brayden ran around so much this weekend, he slept about 13 hours straight last night. So jealous! Although he was very busy playing trucks and digging dirt, he managed to get some croquet time in with my cute little nephew.
Due to the holiday weekend, I will be running away to join my family in CT. I will answer all emails and requests when I return. Thank you and have a safe weekend.
Babies! Babies! Babies! Good thing I can't get enough :) Not only is mommy and daddy in love, but big sister can't seem to get enough of this precious little guy. She couldn't give him enough hugs and kisses. Hopefully mommy and baby will be able to celebrate the 4th at home.

My darling husband and I are celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary as well as our 11 years together. I have spent a quarter of my life with this man and I have never been happier. We have a fabulous family and I look forward to everyday with them.
In my search of my photo achieves for our wedding pictures given to us by friends and family, I realized how bad they looked, quality wise. Good old 2 mega pixel cameras :) Anyway, I own the copyright to my wedding images so that is the ONLY reason I scanned some of my proofs. As bad as scanned photos look, I wanted to share our special day with you. 
Remember this Hip Urban Momma... well she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy early Tuesday morning, after a quick 3 hour labor, lucky girl. When I met Baby E, he was only about 15 hours old. Talk about "Fresh Face." Mommy and family are are doing great and big brother loves giving him kisses.
I think I am the official photographer of this neighborhood since I have had the pleasure work with several families on the same street ;) This little sweet thing is just about to turn 1 years old. She greeted me this morning with a bright smile and the cutest pigtails.
Mommy and I have been talking for over 7 months now, but we keep having babies! Today we were finally able to get together. It was like meeting a pen, or email, pal :) The funny part is, our babies names are only separated by one letter and our oldest are only 2 days apart.
How quickly a year goes by. It seems like just yesterday I was at this little guys house taking his newborn photos for his birth announcement, one of my favorites ;) Take about beautiful blue eyes with such squeezable cheeks!
After a long wait and countless emails, we have finally finalized the details of the "Fresh Face" search for boys.
However, I am going to have to make you wait just a wee bit longer (hehehe). Details will be posted in July, so be sure to check back then for more info. We have been finalizing the details and I promise you, it will be an exciting experience for the winners. In the mean time, be sure to check out the blog to see what I have been up too.
I would like to think that we hope to one day celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. This fabulous family came up for the weekend from New Jersey to celebrate just that. We had a great time and managed to avoided the rain, as I seem to do with every weekend :)

This little sweetie made my job so easy. She just turned one and was ready work her stuff for the camera. She was non stop smiles in her birthday dress.
