One of my fellow mommies is a nurse for Vassar Brothers Hospital, in their NICU unit. The NICU at Vassar has grown so much in the past couple of years, that they are out growing their space. Some of these babies are born 1-3 lbs each and could spend months in NICU. I got a first hand look at the NICU unit when my friend gave birth to her triplets.
I told my fellow mommy, I would help her out in looking for Preemie clothing donations for these wee ones. If you have Preemie clothes you are no longer in need of, please contact me and I will make arrangements to get them from you.
Thank You!!!

Benefit for Andrew...
What an awesome day it turned out to be. There was a great turn out for the benefit today. I saw a lot of familiar faces and met a lot of great people. It is always so great to see a community come together to become one large family for a day. It was an honor to be apart of it and I thank all of those who put countless hours into the event.

Trip to Fenway...
Today is Patriots Day in Boston. Also the running of the 112th Boston Marathon. We were lucky enough to have friends with GREAT tickets to yesterdays Red Sox game vs The Texas Rangers. The game started off on a bad start, but in the eight, the Sox came back after trailing 5 runs the whole game, to take the lead and finally the win!

Earth Day, April 22, 2008-How YOU can make a difference...
There are simple changes we can make in our everyday life that can make a huge impact on our environment. These changes don't have to be expensive, and in the long run save you money. Everyday day or two I am going to post small tips that could make a BIG difference.
From Earthbound Farm: Bag your own
More than 100 billion plastic shopping bags and 10 billion paper grocery bags are thrown away in the US each year — but if every household in the country used their own canvas tote for just one shopping trip a year, we could save about 60,000 trees. For more hints on green shopping, visit the World Wildlife Fund’s Center for a New American Dream at www.ibuydifferent.org.

Little Miss Eyes...
What a little ball of sunshine and a joy to photograph. She had a smile on her face the moment I walked in the door. She would make a great subject for the Little Red Heads Across America book. Her momma was the winner of a complementary session at the Waddle N Swaddle grand opening raffle.

Waddle N Swaddle in the POJO...
Carolyn Torella of the Poughkeepsie Journal, continues her monthly feature of young entrepreneurs in the Hudson Valley by visiting Jenn Sullivan of Waddle N Swaddle on Raymond Ave in Poughkeepsie. Some of you might remember, Carolyn did a story bad in December on Surprise Photography, what a real honor that was for me!
Jenn's store carries maternity and new mommy products that are "made in the USA in fair-trade factory conditions from small designer lines, not mass-produced." Something Jenn, as well as a lot of us, find "makes a big difference to our global economy." Be sure to check out the article here: POJO and if you swing by the store, be sure to tell Jenn Melissa sent you!
